Life can throw you a bunch of crap, but you get to choose how you react to it and how you feel about it. In fact, your thoughts play the biggest role in every outcome you experience. The awesome news is that you can shift your thoughts in a way that helps you experience the outcome you want. So, how powerful are your thoughts?
Your Thoughts Determine Your Overall Life
What you think about doesn’t just determine how you feel. It also determines what you attract into your through various ways, including how much action take.
Your thoughts determine what actions you will (or will not) take, which determines what you bring into your life. Taking action is important for manifesting the life we want. Without action, we can’t bring anything into our life.
For instance, if you think you are not attractive enough to be wanted by someone, then you may not try to talk to that person that you are interested in. And, if you don’t ever talk to someone you are interested in, you won’t ever attract a relationship into your life.
Alan Cohen wrote a book called ‘Why Your Life Sucks’, and in it he says that if you feel as though your life sucks, that’s serious. It’s a wake-up call to do something different, not more of the same. In other words, if you do not feel positive about life, yourself, and others, then it’s time to do something different! Following are 5 tips from people who are known for their positive attitude towards life. Use them to do something different in your life.
1. Change The Way Perceive Things
The late Wayne Dyer has always said that if you change the way you think, you can experience more happiness right now. Wayne had a knack for positivity, and it seems as though he was born with it.
One example he gave was when he was young and a teacher informed his class that they were the worst class she had ever had. At recess, many of the students were upset, but not Wayne. He said, “If this is the worst class she’s got, then she’s got it pretty easy!”
Do you want to be successful? Most everyone does, but not everyone wants to do the things that they need to do to get that success. High achievers are driven to accomplish more than the average person, but they aren’t superheroes. Anyone can achieve more success in their life by following a few basic success principles that high achievers already follow.
1. Overcome Procrastination
Procrastination keeps you from your goals, but it also gives you insight into how badly you want to achieve the goals you have created. High achievers know that procrastinating is a sign that something needs to change.
– Maybe the goal is not something they really want
– Maybe they have too much going on at once
– Maybe the task is too big and causing too much stress
– Maybe it’s time to create new tasks
They see procrastination for what it is and then take action to overcome it. Once procrastination is out of the way, they can easily follow through on other important success principles, and you can too.
As Jack Nicholson said, “A lot of people can’t remember things because they weren’t actually there to begin with.” When you are focused on the past or the future, you are not really paying attention to your life as it happens.
Living in the present moment will help you to be happier, healthier, more focused, less stressed, less fearful, more in control, and countless other things. It’s the number one way to take control of your life and live it with purpose. So how can you get more present in your life?
1. Remind Yourself Daily How Important The Present Moment Is
Living in the moment doesn’t just help you to experience and enjoy your life, it also helps define what is going to happen to you in the future. You can make better and healthier decisions in life when you are focused on the moment, and for happiness and success that is very important.
Is there one tool that can help you change your life in all areas? Yes! It’s called subliminal messages. If you have used them, then you already know what I’m talking about. But if you haven’t, let me explain why these quiet little messages can have such a huge impact on your life.
You Take In All The Messages Around You
Your subconscious holds all the messages that you have received from friends, family members, ads, strangers, and even yourself. These messages have helped form your beliefs about other people, the world around you, and yourself.
Want more out of life? There are two parts of your mind that need to work together in order to bring you the life you want. It’s important to understand how they work together so that you can make the most out of them.
The Conscious Mind
You are probably aware of this part of your mind. It is the part that allows you to view and feel emotions about what you are seeing. It can help you fantasize about the life you want or make judgments about the life you don’t want. It is the part of your mind that brings about awareness in this moment.
The Subconscious Mind
This is not a part of the mind that many people give thought to. Most people believe that they take actions based on their conscious mind, but the truth is their subconscious mind is the main motivator behind the decisions they make.
Subbconscious mind is the part of their mind that is not fully aware, but they don’t know just how powerful it is to their overall happiness and success in life. Once you know how powerful that part of your mind is, you will have the key to change your life for the better.
How It Works
Your subconscious mind stores a ton of information.
– When you stubbed your toe on the bed, your subconscious stored that information
– When you had a bad relationship and felt used, your subconscious stored that information
– When you successfully rode a bike for the first time, your subconscious stored that information
– When someone made you feel like you were ugly or unworthy, your subconscious stored that information
Depending on who you ask, the question about whether or not we live in a fate-driven world will result in a bunch of different answers. People will give answers based on their experiences, their mood, their frustration, and their hopes. But, do we really have the ability to choose the direction of our lives or is it all written in the stars?
It’s Beyond My Control!
Many people live with the notion that what happens has been planned out for them. Many of these people are religious and believe that God has a plan for them that is unfolding exactly the way it should. In other words, when something bad or good happens, it was meant to happen and is a part of the bigger picture that God has laid out for them.
Luck is a word we use often. We talk about good luck, bad luck, and sheer dumb luck. But when you take a step back and think about it, luck is really just a result of one thing.
Luck Follows A Choice
Every time you have a lucky experience, it followed a choice you made. For instance, you may have chosen to sit in one seat over another on the bus and met a new friend or lover because of it. Or you may have decided to spend a few extra minutes enjoying breakfast instead of rushing out the door and narrowly avoided an accident. While it may seem like a random occurence, it really just happened because of a choice that you made.
Even gambling is a matter of choice.
– You choose red instead of black and lose
– You choose one slot machine over the other and watch someone win a jackpot on the other machine
– You choose to try one more twenty in a machine instead of going home and end up winning a jackpot
Attention and intention are two important parts of getting the life you want. But is one better than the other? It’s important to understand how they are different and how they work together to help you get the relationships, career, and life that you want.
Attention vs Intention
Your attention can be defined as your awareness or your consciousness. It’s where you focus your energy when you are really living in the moment. It’s how you think about someone or something. It’s how you judge someone or something. It’s how you pay attention and observe what is going on around you.
By using your attention, you can get insight into where you are, what you want, and where you want to go. In short, you get a clearer picture of where your actions and behaviors have gotten you.
