5 Visualization Techniques To Help With Goals, Confidence, And Health

Visualization is an exciting and free tool that we can all use, and it is powerful! It can help you decide what goals you want to have, come up with new ideas, achieve your goals, feel more confident, and give you control of your life.

The chances are good that you already use visualization in some way. You may visualize things happening, good or bad. For instance, you may try to visualize yourself winning the lottery or going on a date with someone you like. Or, you may visualize the worst case scenarios when you get worried about something.

You can use visualization to your advantage. In fact, using the following visualization techniques, you can change the course of your life, create goals, boost confidence, improve health, and relieve stress.

1. Visualizing What Goals You Really Want To Make

At the core, we all have a good idea where we want to go. We know who we want to become. We know what our passions are and what will make us happiest. But, many times, we shove all that knowledge way back so that we can tackle the life happening around us, and we forget about what matters most to us.

If you have decided to create some goals that are going to get you the ultimate life that you want, you may be struggling to figure out what those goals should look like. This visualization technique can help you tap into that place holds all of your dreams in life, and give you a peek into what goals you need to make to experience your ultimate life.

Take a deep breath in and as you exhale, feel your entire body relax. Start from the top of your head, and relax every single bit of you relax from your head, ears, face, shoulders, arms, chest, hips, legs, and feet. Anything you still feel tension in, go back and relax it. You want to get relaxed and let your conscious mind take a break for a while so you can connect to a deeper part of yourself. (Note: You can use this relaxation method for all of the visualization techniques talked about below too.)

When you feel relaxed, visualize yourself 5 years from now. See yourself in your future home, having everything you want in life. In this visualization, you’ve done it! You’ve achieved your dreams. You’ve moved into a whole new level of living, and you are happy!

You may visualize yourself living in a mansion, or you may visualize yourself in the same home with some upgrades that make you feel amazing. Visualize yourself going to the computer and checking your bank balance. See that it is exploding with money! There are no financial worries or stress, just pure success and happiness in all areas of your life because you have achieved greatness. Take a deep breath in and celebrate at how far you have come.

8 Techniques To Affect The Subconscious Mind

Your subconscious mind is what puts you on autopilot. While it’s true that you first have to consciously pay attention to what you are doing, or you have to consciously take in a new concept or idea, your subconscious ultimately decides what you do and how you do it and, just like habits, it plays a huge part in how your day is going to go.

As you move towards building habits and beliefs that you want in your life, it helps to have your subconscious mind on board to adopting them. If it can store the data you need, then soon the habits and beliefs that you want to master will become an automatic part of your day and a part of who you are and what you do.

So, how can you get the habits and beliefs you want permanently into your subconscious mind? Following are 8 different techniques that you can use to affect the subconscious mind in a powerful way.

1. Paying Attention To Your Thoughts

This sounds easy, but it can be easier said than done. What you think about most will end up influencing your subconscious mind and your ability to develop the habits and beliefs you want. For instance, if you constantly think, “I’m not deserving of this new habit,” then you are going to consciously resist adopting the new habit into your life, which means your subconscious will resist adopting it into its life.

Think about driving a car. If you are constantly on edge and scared that you are going to crash, then you are never going to develop the automatic way of driving that most of us have. You will resist adopting it into your subconscious because consciously you are focused on all the negatives and fear. If you let them go, then you will find yourself quickly becoming comfortable with your new skill and doing it automatically as you listen to music or talk to other people in the car.

2. Prayer

A prayer is expressing a hope or wish that you have, and when you say a prayer, you feel a sense of faith that your hope or wish is coming. The beauty of prayer is that it is something you can use anywhere. It doesn’t need to be said out loud. It doesn’t need to be done kneeling with your hands together. It is a simple act of expressing what you want and asking for it.

Why does prayer help affect the subconscious mind? First, it repeats what you want to adopt into your conscious mind, which helps the subconscious mind to recognize it as important. And, second, It gives you faith that what you are praying for is coming, and that faith helps solidify what you want in your subconscious mind.

Joseph Murphy says that if you pray with faith, you already possess what you pray for you because you are practicing the law of inverse transformation. He says that if a known fact can change your psychological state, then your psychological state can produce a known fact. In other words, if you believe it enough, you can make it a fact to your subconscious mind.

The Power Of The Mind Over Your Health And Life

Your lungs allow you to breathe. Your heart pumps blood through your body. Your brain is the place where intellectual decisions are made, nervous activity is controlled, and sensation stems from. All of these things work at a subconscious level. You don’t need to pay attention to them in order to experience their benefits. They expand, pump, and function without your conscious help.

Your mind, however, is one thing that you can make work for you with a conscious awareness. It is the part of you that allows you to think, feel, and understand the world around you. The brain and mind are often called the same thing, but there are many people who have a brain and are not able to think things through and feel emotions from their experiences.

The mind is something that is often taken for granted by people who are capable of using it. This leads to a life of ignorance and limitation.

The truth is that the power of the mind goes beyond thinking, feeling, and being aware. With your mind, you have the power to create the body and the life you want.

The Power Of The Mind Over The Body

This is fascinating stuff. Before I get into it, I want to share a personal story.

I have always known that the mind has a lot of power over the body. I’ve seen it firsthand in my family. For instance, someone in my immediate family has Lupus. He has lived with Lupus for over 30 years. I have always noticed that his thoughts and his symptoms match up. When he is focused on negative things, he breaks out in rashes and fatigue. However, when he is happy and thinking positively, he has energy and his symptoms outright disappear. In fact, a few years ago he was told by a specialist that his Lupus may have been cured. He believed her, and for the next few months he was healthier than I had ever seen him. He didn’t just act healthy, he looked healthy. But, when he went to visit his old specialist (who I believe is really keeping him sick), he told him “Of course you still have Lupus!” And that same day he became tired and sick again.

There are two ways that the mind affects the body. First, being aware of the body and what it needs allows you to do the things that benefit it the most. You understand when it needs food, needs care, needs exercise, or needs rest. When practicing awareness like this, you are able to give your body what it needs before it gets run down and sick.

But, you can also influence the state of your body’s health once you do get sick, physically or mentally. This is often called the placebo effect, which is used when something positive happens because of someone’s mind rather than a drug or treatment.

After reading ‘You Are The Placebo’ by Joe Dispenza, it becomes clear that the mind is powerful. When faced with the options of paralysis or surgery, Joe chose the placebo effect. According to him, this placebo effect signaled new genes and reorganized cells in his body, which is what healed him. He discusses how scientists have discovered that most of our genes (up to 85%) can be turned off and on by signals from the environment. And, some of those genes can be changed very quickly, which is likely the reason behind miracle healings that happen quickly.

Joe understands that emotion is the power behind turning these genes off and on, and the mind is the power behind your emotion. By translating thoughts into emotion, you have immense power over your body. The way he describes it, everything starts in the frontal lobe of the brain, where all the cognitive skills occur, such as emotional expression, judgment, and memory. From there, chemical messages are sent out into the body and turn genetic switches on or off.

He discusses how our bodies can renew themselves, and how we can harness the power of the mind by becoming in control of our mind rather than letting it control us.
