Without it, you wouldn’t know how far you could go or how capable you are because you wouldn’t have anything to push you or compare to.

No, really, do it! There are many natural things we do when we feel like we are coming out on top. Pumping the fist, yelling out something, or throwing our arms up in the air are all signs to ourselves that we are killing it. By pounding your chest, you are sending a signal to your subconsciousness that you are going to beat this, and that will help it find ways to do so.
Yes, whatever is happening may be bad, but if you are still breathing, then it hasn’t taken you out, and you can look it in the eye and pound your chest as a sign of strength that you were not taken out by it and you WILL overcome it. This may seem silly, but there is a lot of meaning in the action. It will help you remind yourself that you are big, bad, and should be considered a force to be reckoned with in this life. Therefore, if you pay attention to it, and don’t try to force it, you will find your next move to overcome adversity.
9. Get On The Right Path
No matter where the adversity is happening in your life, you need to make sure that you are on the right path. Are you following your dreams? Are you being honest with yourself? Are you working towards the life that you want? If not, then you need to get on the right path in order to stay motivated to overcome adversity.
If something bad happens, and you feel like you are wasting your days away, then you will not put too much effort into making things better. The voice in your head will say, ‘Why bother? Life sucks anyway!’
The right path will give meaning to your life. It will give you a reason to keep going in tough times. So, look for it! It’s important!
It’s also important to say that the wrong path may be leading you to all the adversity that you are feeling. The way you approach your life and your relationships may be playing a big part in things going badly, and you need to be open to change because of this. You may need to admit that the path you are on, even if you thought it was right at one time, may not be so great anymore for you.

Living on government assistance and feeling beat down in life, she decided to change things up and go after her passion. She wrote the first Harry Potter book and she has never had to face being on government assistance and feeling helpless again. Even if, for some crazy reason, she goes broke, she still has the knowledge that she can turn things around in a big way, and the blueprint to do it.
Staying open and willing to change is important for overcoming adversity. Being able to move left when moving straight is a bad idea can make all the difference in the world.
10. Get Help
There are going to be a lot of things that you can overcome by yourself, but seeking help from others will help you get unstuck from limiting beliefs or narrow views that may be holding you back. Whom you seek help from, all depends on the situation.
I know one man who owns a manufacturing company and employees a life coach to come in once a week to help him through adversities that he’s facing, both in his business and in his personal life! Life coaches can help you make positive changes in your life and keep you focused on the right path. They have the knowledge and tools to help you get through tough times.
But, a life coach isn’t always necessary. Talking to people who have been where you are and overcame it can help. And talking to people with a lot of life experience can help. Therefore, sometimes just a stroll to your park and a seat beside the right person may be the experience you need to shift your mindset or find a solution.
11. Say The Right Things
Yes, I mean positive affirmations! If adversity is in your life, then you will be inclined to say some pretty negative things. Those negative words will keep you stuck focusing on what is wrong with the situation rather than what you can do to overcome the situation. When you are able to affirm to yourself that you are going to be alright and that this adversity will pass, then you will be more likely to do all of the above and more to overcome it.
