3 Keys to Unlock Your Potential

Not sure you have potential? I have seen depressed and unmotivated people rise up to reach their potential and suddenly have a huge impact on their lives and the world around them. You probably have too. These are ordinary people who woke up one day and decided they wanted to unlock their potential and live a happier and more fulfilling life. If you want to do the same, there are 3 keys that can help you unlock your potential and get on the track to awesomeness.

1. Ask Other People To Name Your Strengths

When you look in the mirror, you probably don’t see a lot of what other people see. People who believe in you and are honest with you will be able to give you some insight into what they think you are capable of and where they think you would do the most damage (in a positive way of course).

You can always work with a life coach or a creative coach too. They have the tools to unlock your potential and help you clearly figure out how to reach it.

This is a tough one to do when it comes to family and friends, but if you can gather up the courage, you will learn about some strengths that you didn’t know you had, and you will be able to explore them further to see what you are really capable of doing. Moreover, you will gain some self-worth from all the positive comments, which is exactly what you need to rise up and unlock your potential.

2. Release Negative Beliefs

When you are living in a world of self-doubt, jealousy, self-pity, and hopelessness, you cannot reach out to find your potential. Those negative beliefs keep you stuck in a mental prison that not only holds you back from reaching your potential but blinds you from seeing it as well.

Having others point out your strengths will help you develop a more positive belief system about yourself, but you must actively pursue some techniques to change your core beliefs if you really want to have an effect on your potential. Changing beliefs doesn’t just happen overnight in most cases. It takes commitment to developing new mindsets and judgments.

You can use:

– Positive affirmations
– Subliminal affirmations
– Self hypnosis
– Visualization

And, you can go back and tackle past experiences that have caused you to have negative beliefs about yourself. You may want to talk to a therapist about them or deal with them on your own. Either way, it’s important to change the story that those experiences have created in your mind.

3. Stop Lying To Yourself

When you deny who you are, what you want, and what you are able to do, you deny your potential. Stop pretending that you are not capable of doing what great people have done, and start finding ways to do whatever it is you really want to do.

Stop looking at yourself as a human with limited possibilities. Instead, see yourself as a spiritual person who was put here with the potential to do anything you put your mind to.

If you don’t think that’s true about yourself, look at some people that you consider to be beyond human and notice that they are really no different than you. They have the same bodies. They have the same brain. They just choose to do different things with them.

When you look in the mirror and get honest with yourself, you will see that if you really wanted to, you could do something great tomorrow. Your potential is limitless, and all you have to do is choose to go after it.
