How To Dream Big And Make It Happen

Nelson Mandela said that it always seems impossible until it’s done. These are words to live by. Your big dreams may feel somewhere close to impossible right now, but the truth is that you wouldn’t have them if you didn’t believe in your core that you might be able to achieve them and experience extreme happiness and fulfillment from them. That’s why you have to allow yourself to dream big and then do what you can to make those dreams come true.

Dreaming Big: Making The Idea Something You Must Do

If you want to dream big, you must understand why it is so important to do so. Following are a few insights that have helped me understand why dreaming big is so important.

First, you can’t find and live your passion by living a small life. Your passions are tied up with big things and settling in life is not the way to grow and find fulfillment, it is only the way to wonder what could have been.

Second, you can impact the world in a big way if you dream big. This world is made from ideas and actions. If you dream big, you may influence the entire world in a positive way. It may start because you influenced one person in some way to dream big and impact the world in their own way, or it may be something that impacts many people at one time such as a new invention or philosophy.

Lastly, this life is too short not to dream big. Wasting your days doing stuff that doesn’t fulfill you is such a waste of the time you have here. You’ve been given your body, mind, talents, passions, and opportunities for a reason. Take them!

Stop Creating Traps With Needless Obstacles

Deepak Chopra says that the unconscious beliefs we have about ourselves gain strength as they remain hidden, and while we may not be aware of them, they actually create traps for us with needless obstacles on the path to what we want.

For instance, one person may walk into a room with no door and find a way out through a window. But, if you have an unconscious belief that you can’t be creative enough to find a new way to do things, then you may walk into the room and create a trap for yourself with an obstacle you can’t overcome. You may not even see the window.

These unconscious beliefs that limit us, force us to walk away from new experiences with the same results because they dictate what we will do and how we will do it. Deepak says that the people who rise to the occasion and make it happen are the people who recognize their unconscious beliefs first and move forward despite them.

Therefore, in order to make your big dreams happen, you must recognize which of your unconscious beliefs are going to hold you back from taking action and do something to minimize them.

The best way to do this is to put yourself in an uncomfortable situation and see what beliefs come up. For instance, take the first step towards accomplishing your dreams and note the beliefs that tell you that you can’t or shouldn’t. Those beliefs are the powerful unconscious beliefs you have about yourself, and they are limiting you from making your dreams happen.

Often recognizing that these beliefs are limiting you will give you the power to move forward and minimize them, but if you can’t do that, then it’s time to ponder how true they are, what validity they have behind them, and how true they seem looking in from an outsiders opinion. Bringing them to your conscious mind and gaining perspective on them will help you minimize them.

Then replace them with new, more empowering beliefs that encourages you to take action. You can do this by using affirmations (subliminal or spoken) and taking small bits of action that prove your new beliefs are really true.
